Make sure it meets Podcasts’ Requirements
Since most podcast directories follow Apple Podcasts’ lead, if your artwork fulfils the directory’s specifications, it will also work in other popular podcast apps.
The minimal size for cover art is 1400 by 1400 pixels, but Apple’s requirements vary from time to time, so save your work at 3000 x 3000 pixels to avoid future resizing.

Limit your Words
Keep it basic, even if it’s tempting to include the podcast’s title, hostname, slogan, and so on. With too much text, the cover art can rapidly become visually overpowering. In your podcast cover image, try to keep it to four or five words at most. It will be nearly impossible to make out anything more than that when your artwork is displayed at thumbnail size.
Choose Font Size Wisely
When adding text to your artwork, keep visual distractions to a minimum. Using different typefaces will add a new level of complexity to the distraction. We recommend using no more than two different fonts in your artwork, and if you do use two different fonts, use one serif and one sans-serif font.
